StepStones for Youth
StepStones for Youth was founded in 2004 in response to the critical need for preventative intervention programs for vulnerable young people. StepStones’ executives have extensive experience working in residential camp settings, community programs, and various programs for children in care. A team of dedicated professionals has created a vision for a program that includes an overnight summer camp as well as extended programming throughout the school year for youth who need it most. There were many late nights, working weekends, and a tremendous amount of volunteer support to turn the dream into a reality. Each year, StepStones grows a little more, and they are thankful for the support of those who believe in StepStones.
Their mission is to provide a safe and ongoing support network for youth who have experienced trauma, financial instability and/or lack of consistent guardian care. We offer innovative skill based programming to children and young adults who are considered vulnerable or at-risk within their community to enhance their growth and success in life.
Many of the youth who participate in the programs at StepStones come from unstable, low income homes and have been in contact with child protection, and/or legal systems. StepStones is also committed to providing programming for youth in care, as well as for those transitioning out of care, as StepStones recognizes the unique challenges and circumstances often present in the lives of these youth.
